The luxury Hotel Elephant Weimar - Our Suites

Junior Suite

Taking time for the little details gives one a view of the truly large things in life. The interiors of our tastefully designed Junior Suites offer precisely those small, subtle details. All the suites in this category are fitted with a comfortable seating area which visually separates the sleeping area from the living area. In the bathrooms, washstands made out of precious "Nero Assolute" granite can be found, which combine elements of Art Déco and Bauhaus in a particularly lovely manner.

Harry Graf Kessler Suite

The Harry Graf Kessler Suite is one of our six different themed suites. We have dedicated it to the great patron of art, politician and writer Harry Graf Kessler because of his many connections to Weimar. Historical photographs and art works from the Cranach Press, which was brought to life by Kessler, adorn this suite, as does photography which was created specifically for this room by the Weimar resident, artist Naomi Tereza Salmon.  In a total of 55 m² these treasures and the luxury combine to create a magnificent ensemble for your accommodation.

Alfred Ahner Suite

Since February of 2000 our hotel has honoured the painter Alfred Ahner, who lived in Weimar for over 50 years and imparted his unparalleled artistic expression here. Selected drawings and pictures by the artist Alfred Ahner (1890-1973) enhance the lovely Bauhaus and Art Déco elements of this suite to perfection. The roughly 55 m² Alfred Ahner Suite seduced guests with its exquisite interior and a romantic view of the garden and terrace of our hotel.

Lyonel Feininger Suite

With this suite the Hotel Elephant recognises the prominent German-American painter and graphic artist Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956). His work is reflected in this 70 m² suite through a total of 16 pieces by the world-famous artist. Among them are two one-of-a-kind woodcarving originals. All the while, this suite is also reminiscent of the Foundation of Weimar Classics' Bauhaus Museum where further works of the great artist can be found.

This themed suite, opened in March of 2009, is dedicated to the founder of Weimar Bauhaus, Walter Gropius, and his wife Alma. The suite is located on the first floor of our hotel with a fascinating view of the city's Marktplatz square. Thomas Mann Suite

With the Thomas Mann Suite we honour the Nobel-Prize-winning author who created a literary memorial to the Hotel Elephant in the 30s of the last century with his novel "Lotte in Weimar". The splendidly large suite, 100 m² in size, features three rooms: a living room which can be used as a conference room, a work/living room and a bedroom with walk-in closet. The finest materials such as teak and wenge woods can be seen in the furniture, while oak parquet adorns the floors. Valuable textiles and carpet runners in warm sand tones underline the dignified atmosphere of this suite. The bathroom with hot tub has been designed with Saalburg and Botticino marble, and glass etchings round off the stylish and exclusive ensemble. This suite on the first floor offers our guests a fantastic view of the picturesque Marktplatz square of Weimar.
